Mason Dew passed for three touchdowns Friday night for the Foothill football team in a 28-17 victory against host Faith Lutheran in a crucial Class 5A, Division II game.
The Falcons wasted little time in jumping out to a 21-3 lead, with Dew connecting with Ethan Stubbs, Chase Kennedy and Devon Wake on scoring strikes.
“Mason had a heck of a game,” Foothill coach Vernon Brown said. “He came out to play.”
Avant Gates scored on a rushing touchdown for Foothill. The Falcons improve to 8-1 overall and 5-0 in league games, setting up a de facto conference championship game next week against Basic.
A Basic victory would create a three-way tie between Basic, Faith Lutheran and Foothill in the standings. Faith Lutheran beat Basic earlier in the season.
But a Foothill victory would give the Falcons the outright title.
