Myles Juniel had an interception return for a touchdown Friday night for the Sunrise Mountain football team in an 18-13 victory against Canyon Springs to capture the Class 4A Southern League title.
“Our kids are riding high,” Sunrise Mountain coach Chris Sawyers said about the win in a battle of teams who entered with undefeated league records. “Now we have to find a way to keep it going and finish this thing.”
Christein Thompson threw touchdown passes to Jacob Abbott and Kendric Rice, and Auhsoj Cunningham rushed for 175 yards.
