The Eldorado football led Pinecrest by 20 points at halftime Friday night, but lost all of its momentum in the second half and had to hang on for a 40-33 victory.

Xavier Delgado was a one-man show for Eldorado with two kickoff returns for a touchdown to solidify the win.

“(Pinecrest) got on a roll. It was a fight to the finish,” coach Darryl Tootle said.

And this was just the matinee, as the teams play again in six days in the playoffs.

“This was a good lesson before the playoffs. It will help us refocus,” Tootle said. “They will make adjustments and we are also going to make adjustments.”

Jaeshawn West had a rushing touchdown and about 75 yards. Delgado also caught a touchdown pass.
