Makhai Donaldson rushed for 120 yards and a touchdown tonight for the Arbor View football team in a 45-28 win against host Shadow Ridge.

It was Donaldson’s first game of the season. Fittingly, it was Arbor View’s first win in three games.

“He was ready to go. He was our workhorse,” Arbor View coach Matt Gerber said.

The Aggies also had a strong game passing the ball.

Freshman quarterback Thaddeus Thatcher completed 21 of 24 passes for 352 yards and four touchdowns, connecting with sophomore Jayden Williams nine times for 178 yards and three touchdowns. The 352 yards were the most in a single-game in Arbor View’s nearly 20-year history.

Gerber said Thatcher looked like a freshman for part of the game before setting in. “He continues to get better and better every week,” the coach said.

Kamareion Bell had six carries for 78 yards and a touchdown, Kai Cypher had 78 receiving yards and a touchdown, and Jeau Vinatieri had a 28-yard field goal and connected on 6 of 6 extra points.
