Caden Chittenden’s 57-yard field goal with about three minutes to play in the fourth quarter helped the Faith Lutheran football team force overtime Thursday against host Basic in erasing a 17-point first half deficit.
Faith Lutheran was victorious 28-27 in overtime after stopping a 2-point conversion attempt.
“Huge win, especially after being down 17 points,” Faith Lutheran coach Mike Sanford said.
Faith Lutheran’s overtime points came on a touchdown pass from Garyt Odom to Graham Radke. Odom and Cale Breslin had touchdown runs for the Crusaders.
Quarterback Anthony Vega had a touchdown run for Basic.
“Basic did a nice job in the first half on both sides of the ball. Credit to them,” Sanford said.
