Quarterback Coen Coloma rushed for 160 yards and two touchdowns tonight for the Shadow Ridge football team in a 28-12 victory against host Silverado.
They are familiar foes having competing against each other for the Class 4A state championship the past two seasons. Each game was won by Silverado.
Some of the Shadow Ridge players used the past defeats as motivation for tonight, coach Travis Foster said.
“The kids were excited,” the coach said. “Some of them took it personally.”
Evan Cannon had 124 rushing yards and two touchdowns, helping Shadow Ridge get back into the win column after being upset last week by Coronado.
“The story of tonight was our defense,” Foster said. “They played really, really well.”
