A U.S. Marshals task force on Thursday arrested an alleged gang member in Las Vegas who violated his parole.

Members of the U.S. Marshals Nevada Fugitive Investigative Strike Team (FIST) first spotted 34-year-old Trent Ingram in the 2900 block of Savers Court in Las Vegas and pursued him to the 3000 block of Mabry Street in North Las Vegas.

Ingram was trying to hide out with close friends, authorities said. FIST members including Metro Police and the Nevada Department of Public Safety set up a perimeter and watched as Ingram tried to flee after changing his clothes in an attempt to alter his appearance.

Ingram was taken into custody without resistance and booked into the Clark County Detention Center on a charge of violating his parole. He will appear before the parole board at a later date.

Ingram's parole stemmed from an original 1995 second-degree homicide conviction.

After serving almost 12 years in prison, Ingram was paroled in 2006. Sometime in January, Ingram failed to report to his parole officer and a warrant was issued.

After Ingram disappeared, authorities began an investigation leading to Thursday's arrest.

The Nevada FIST is a permanent task force that brings together the resources and expertise of state, local and federal agencies.
