Greene's Take: Down the stretch run of the 2009-10 season, Stanback arguably was the Rebels' most consistent performer. In his first season in uniform following a transfer from UCLA, Stanback was the team's second-leading scorer and its leading rebounder. He will be even more explosive as a junior now that a nagging ankle injury from last season has had some time to heal. It could be said that Stanback — with his overall skill set and 6-foot-8 frame — has as much NBA potential as anyone in the Mountain West Conference.

UNLV Career: Stanback begins his third season as a Runnin' Rebel in 2010-11 ... Transferred to UNLV from UCLA after the 2007-08 season ... Sat out the 2008-09 season as a redshirt because of NCAA transfer rules.

Sophomore (2009-10): Was named third team All-Mountain West Conference ... Also was a member of the league's all-defensive team ... Named to the All-MWC Tournament squad ... Also was a first team All-MWC pick by Sporting News and a second team NABC All-District 17 selection ... Played in all of UNLV's 34 games, making 33 starts ... Averaged 10.7 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.6 steals and 1.4 assists per game ... Was second on the team in scoring and tops in rebounding ... Also led the team in steals and blocks (28) ... Was seventh in the MWC in rebounding, second in steals per game and ninth in blocked shots ... Shot 43.6 percent from the field, 30.9 percent from 3-point range and 80.3 percent from the free-throw line ... Scored in double figures in 20 games and grabbed 10 or more rebounds twice ... Led the Runnin' Rebels in scoring in three games and in rebounding 16 times ... Had his first double-figure scoring game of the year with 14 points against Kansas State ... Had his first career double-double against Utah with 14 points and 10 rebounds ... Had back-to-back 19 point scoring efforts at Colorado State and at TCU ... Pulled down a career-high 14 rebounds against BYU ... Scored a career-high 21 points on 8-of-13 shooting at Air Force ... Scored 11 points and grabbed a team-high six rebounds in UNLV's NCAA Tournament first round game against Northern Iowa ... Scored at least 10 points in his last eight games and 15 of his last 19.

Sophomore - Redshirt (2008-09): Used the 2008-09 season as a redshirt year after transferring to UNLV from UCLA.

Freshman - UCLA (2007-08): Played as a true freshman in 2007-08 at UCLA ... Appeared in 25 games for the Final Four squad ... Averaged 5.8 minutes per game, shot 40.4 percent from the field and averaged 1.8 points per game.

High School: A 2007 graduate of Fairfax High School in Los Angeles ... The team won two state championships (2004 and 2007) ... Averaged 25.8 points and 11.9 rebounds as a senior, leading the Lions to the Division I state title and a 28-5 record ... Was named the Los Angeles Times' Boy's Basketball Player of the Year ... Was named an All-American by EA Sports and MaxPreps ... Also earned California Division I Player of the Year and John Wooden Player of the Year honors in 2007 ... Fairfax was ranked No. 5 in the West Regional boy's basketball final rankings by USA Today ... As a junior, led the Lions to a 24-3 overall record while averaging 18.7 points, 9.9 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game ... Named all-city, all-league and all-state as a junior ...
