The Mann Act is still on the books. The feds should prosecute him after the state gets done with him.

Bob,

Not so much. The mines probably on federal land, so the feds should be collecting. NV has nothing to do with it.

DMCV,

Not so much.

All the sidewalks along the strip are actually owned by the casinos. The county wanted to widen the strip a while back, tore out the publicly owned sidewalks, and asked the casinos to build sidewalks on their property, which the casinos did.

However, the casinos (the Venetian IIRC) tried to use this fact to prevent Culinary from picketing on the sidewalks. Culinary took them to court, and won. So doen't assume this will be a protest free zone.

He only got busted for these three because they ran the DNA from the cold cases. I have to wonder how many he killed where they didn't get DNA samples, or they haven't run them on the old cases yet (or never found the bodies.)

I don't have any problem with law abiding citizens owning and carrying guns. That being said, based on what was presented here, the Henderson cops acted properly. You can't approach the cops gun drawn, and not expect to get shot. Stupid gets what it deserves.

Maybe it was stolen beforehand. Fleeing and leaving your own vehicle is stupid. It's not hard for the cops to track the driver down. If it really was stolen, and the thief gets away, he's likely gotten away with it.

There are much worse things that Clark County could be doing than positioning itself as a shooting sports mecca. Bringing in bit tournements can fill hotel rooms, and put players on the tables afterwards. If this comes to pass, they could use this as a basis to lure some of th big gun manufacturers to Vegas. Many of them are in high tax, anti-gun states (NY, MA.) These companies might find the combination of cheap land, low taxes, and gun friendly government very interesting. This could be worth a several hundred a few thousand jobs.

Stephenblv,

There's no way in hell Culinary would allow that. They'd shut down the whole property first

I wonder if it would be possible for a casino resort to organize it's physical and legal/corporate entities in such a way as the non-game portion would not come under the review of the Gaming Control Board. It seems patently silly that they should have oversight of anything not directly related to gaming (like what happens at pools and dance clubs attached to casino resorts.)

The Fertitas, to their credit, have never allowed the union into Station, and they never will. The union has not succeeded in convincing the Station workers that they need a union.

The union hates this, because it may give the other big casino owners the idea that they really don't need the union (which the don't.) Hopefully, one of the big strip companies, if they have to go through bankrupsty, will take the opportunity to ditch the contract, and go non-union.
