it wasn't really because of weak business conditions concerning the economy...they just had a few managment teams that ran the place into the ground!! The Oasis was the property they owned that was actually bringing in the most cashflow, but the property needed more revamping and they'd rather put money into their other casinos! The closure of the Oasis was a sad day for Mesquite...it really hurt the economy for Mesquite residents and just before Christmas that year too...Way to Go big gaming, good job at hurting the Little people!!
