"Most republicans don't think certain people should be allowed to express free speech. I think we can all pick them out here." - Antigov

Most republicans don't shatter windows, loot stores, flip over cars or attack innocent people on the streets either.

I'm not sure why anybody would feel comfortable with allowing somebody to vote who isn't bright enough to figure out how to get an I.D. but it's pretty irrelevant anyways.

At this point, as thousands of illegal aliens swarm into our country and hundreds of thousands more are about to be legitimized, yet again, the democrats have already found the easiest way to swell their voting ranks.

Liberals just won't be happy until the entire country drowns in mediocrity, anybody productive moves to another country or retires, and the only jobs available will be government created makeshift pork belly type projects.

El Lobo, if you cut the defense spending by 20%, exactly where are those 20% of newly unemployed military workers or civilian contractors employed in military aspects going to find work?

While there are many fine, talented and very skilled individual in our military, there are also quite a few who simply enlisted as they weren't able to find civilian jobs. At the very least, if they are employed by the military, they serve as a standing defense should things go south any further then they already are around the world.

Lay off 20% of the military, and that 20% will simply be replaced with an additional 20% in entitlement checks paid out.

If you feel our military is underworked and not serving any purpose, then let's utilize them to refurbish our infrastructure.

As to finding jobs for our youth, probably not a lot of positions out there for taco shell lickers, ice cream tasters, cell phone texters, or video game play testers.

If you wish true unemployment figures, you must take into account the number of people who are working part time jobs who want to work full time, but can't find the position. Further, you must take into account all those people who are no longer eligible for unemployment and either have given up, or simply can't find work.

If you factor that into the mix, we are in the worst employment position we've have in decades.

I couldn't care less what kind of car they drive, what is aggravating, is knowing full well that the person driving the car is simply utilizing some family members placard in order to park closer. I think in addition to the placard, there should be some paperwork issued with the name of the person authorized to utilize the placard. Hire a few officers to patrol the parking lots and ask to see the paperwork of anybody jogging out of their car. Instant revenue.

"Or, hey, I have an alternate idea: If Station Casinos will allow the Culinary Union to organize at its properties with the same card check process the union has used on the Strip, thereby giving workers the rights they deserve, then, fine, I'll advocate we shut down the kiosks."

Interesting and unneeded comment to end the story. Union's did Hostess no favor obviously, and if one looks at the "100 best places to work", you'll notice that the only casino to ever grace it's list was Station Casino.

Union's may have had their place way back in the day, all they do now is ensure mediocre work, a ridiculous salary for their leadership, and motivation for companies to continue moving their businesses overseas.

Unions certainly did all of their hostess employees a great service.

I don't understand why people don't get it. If you do a job, that everybody else in the country can do, it doesn't warrant a great salary.

Shift back to the past, and understand that people that weren't either highly skilled in their field or craft, still had an opportunity to make a pretty good wage in manufacturing.

We've either modernized or shipped out a huge portion of manufacturing, and this is what has made it difficult to create new better paying jobs.

I have no solution, but forcing higher benefits and higher wages upon the operators of businesses will do nothing more then ensure they close down as well. It's a vicious, ugly cycle.

According to Zillow, which I realize isn't always up to date or completely accurate, there are currently over 6500 available home listings in Las Vegas currently under 200,000.

Also, we aren't talking one bank holding onto their properties, evidently all or most of them are releasing the homes in a measured approach.

I also suspect, and in this case this is an assumption as I haven't tried it myself, that if you did your homework on a foreclosed property, and made the bank a reasonable offer on the property, they would likely release it to you for that price.

No, let's not dump all the houses back on the market. As the inventories lessen, and more foreclosures are released, we will at some point get back to normalcy as far as the real estate market goes.

If one of the 6500 homes under 200,000 isn't working, then apparently, you need a better real estate agent working for you.
