In the past year and a half I have been in and out of Mountainview Hospital because of heart and lung problems. Last December I contracted MRSA while I was there.
Last Wednesday I called 911 because I was having trouble breathing and my blood pressure was elevated. I was in the emergency room 16 hours and was admitted to a room at 3:30 PM Thursday.
When I arrived at the room I was put in isolation because I has MRSA in December. They swabbed my nose to take a culture.
Friday morning they took a chest xray, did an echo cardiogram and a stress test. I requested to see my lung specialist because I was having trouble breathing and was bringing up copius amounts of mucus. The request was denied.
At 7:30 PM the house doctor told me I would have to leave the hospital because I was only admitted for observation and I could only stay 24 hours.
She said my insurance wouldn't pay for another day. I am on Medicare and have AARP supplements. I never had a problem before.
I asked what the results of my tests were and she said she didn't know. I told her I was still having breathing problems. She said that didn't matter and she was giving a prescription for steroids. They told me I had to leave.
Sunday night I started coughing up blood and again on Monday night.
I have an appointment to see my lung specialist on Monday and will tell himm about it.
