Disabled freelance writer Rodger Jacobs and his girlfriend Lela Michael, a freelance editor, moved to Las Vegas in 2007 to care for Jacobs' ailing mother. On the second anniversary of his mother's death, Jacobs and Michael are packing all their belongings and moving to a weekly rate residential hotel.
